Honest advice,
kept human.

Twenty-five years in IT, one operator, no account layers. Identity, automation, and cloud — across Microsoft and Linux estates — explained to the people who'll live with the decisions.

01 — Services

The work, precisely scoped.

No packages or tiers. Each engagement is scoped to the actual problem and the outcome you need from it.

S/01

Identity & access

Entra ID, conditional access, SSO, joiner-mover-leaver lifecycle. Designed and run so the right people have the right access without admin overhead — and you can show your working at audit time.

S/02

Automation & integration

Workflow automations, n8n and Power Automate pipelines, and the scripting that takes repeatable work off humans. Built to be maintainable by your team, not just clever in isolation.

S/03

Infrastructure review

A clear, honest assessment of what you run, what's at risk, and what's worth fixing first — written for decision-makers, not just engineers.

S/04

Cloud & migration

Planning and hands-on delivery of cloud moves, consolidations, and Microsoft or Linux estate work, with a bias toward zero-downtime and no invoice surprises.

S/05

Networks & security

Firewall, segmentation, and access-control work — designed so a non-specialist can still understand what's protecting what, and why.

S/06

Ongoing advisory

A retained technical sounding board for leadership — the calm second opinion before a budget or vendor decision.

02 — Approach

How an engagement runs.

Four phases. Each one ends with something you can act on, even if we stop there.

Listen

Understand the estate, the constraints, the people, and what success genuinely looks like for you.

Architect

A recommended approach with trade-offs named honestly — including the option to do less.

Deliver

Hands-on implementation, or close support of your team. Scope and dates are specific and tracked.

Hand over

Documentation, training, and a defined window of help so nothing lands on you cold.

Working principle
Technology should be unobtrusive.
03 — About

Mark McKee

I've spent twenty-five years in and around IT infrastructure — building it, fixing it, and helping organisations decide what's actually worth doing. The work tends to centre on identity, automation, and cloud, across both Microsoft and Linux estates. McKee Consulting is the independent practice that grew out of that.

The model is deliberately small. You work directly with the person doing the thinking, the advice is vendor-neutral, and the priority is leaving you with systems your own team can run with confidence.

Based in Cardiff, working with organisations across Wales and the wider UK.
